The sessions are 30 minutes each. To help spread the timing of visits, please use the chart below to determine what time you may come.

(Example: My last name is Frillici, so I would attend my grade 2 child’s class from 10:30-11:00.) We encourage you to enter and exit the classroom in a quiet manner, so that the students can continue to learn. Here is the schedule:

Trumbull Public Schools has provided the following guidelines, so that teaching and learning are the priority of the day:

  • We encourage a limit of 10-12 visitors in a classroom at one time.
  • Visits should last no more than 30 minutes.
  • Parent/ Guardian visitations are not open to grandparents, infants, or siblings.
  • Cell phones and pagers must be turned off or set to vibrate while in the classroom.
  • Photographing or videotaping is absolutely not allowed.
  • Food and beverages are not allowed in classrooms.

On the day of the visit, please sign-in in the front foyer. Be ready to show a photo ID and wear a visitor’s tag. Proceed directly to the classroom you are visiting without stopping at other classrooms. While in the classroom, respectfully follow the teachers’ guidelines, so learning is not interrupted. At the conclusion of the visit, report back to the front foyer to sign-out. We thank you for your assistance in making this a safe, positive learning experience for all.

Sincere thanks,

Dear Middlebrook Families,

I want to welcome you and your family to Middlebrook School.  I recognize how hard your family works to live in Trumbull and educate your child in our school.  It has been wonderful meeting the children who have smiled through some very hot, humid days.

Just a reminder that Middlebrook Back-to-School Night has been rescheduled on Monday, September 17th.  The schedule is:

  • 6-6:45pm – Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade meet in the classrooms
  • 6:50-7:10pm – Meet the Specialist Teachers in the Gym
  • 7:15-8:00pm – 3rd, 4th and 5th grade meet in classrooms

This is a very important adult evening, where children should not come.  The teachers will discuss expectations, define routines and review curriculum.  Please remember that this is not an individual conference evening, but a general information meeting dedicated to all parents.  If you want to conference with the teacher, please call or email to make an appointment at another time.

Middlebrook School website is under construction.  We are in the process of reconstructing it.  Normally, you will find all my emails, teacher information, PTA information and procedural information there.  I have attached a hard copy of  the Middlebrook School Handbook for Families, which will guide you based of Trumbull Public School policies.   In the future, you would find this document the on website, too.

Please sign the tear sheet below acknowledging that you received and read the Middlebrook School Handbook for Families.

Our school believes that all children can and will be successful.  With the joint effort of staff, students, administration, and parents, we are focused on high academic achievement, development of quality personal relationships, and a commitment to respect, responsibility, and kindness.

Sincerely,

Principal Frillici Signature

Important Info Regarding the 2018-2019 School Bus Routes

School Bus

August 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As a reminder, the 2018-2019 school bus routes for all Trumbull Public Schools will be available on August 15, 2018 via our website, http://www.trumbullps.org.

In the event that you do not have access to the internet, please note that all bus routes will also be available at your child’s school as well as in the Transportation Department located in the Long Hill Administration Building (6254 Main Street, Trumbull CT).

We are pleased to announce that effective July 1, 2018, our new transportation provider is Durham School Services. As a leader in school bus transportation, we look forward to their safe, dependable and on-time transportation of our district’s students. Our staff, along with Durham School Services, have been working diligently on this transition to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

A new feature that will be provided this year will be a web-based GPS student tracking App which provides parents the ability to view their child(ren)’s current bus location and information about the route. An update will follow with additional details regarding this new feature, including instructions for downloading and using the application.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our office at (203) 452-4321.

Thank you,
The TPS Transportation Department

A Note from our School Nurse, August 2018

August 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On behalf of the many students with food allergies (some of which can be life threatening) we would appreciate your assistance in keeping our classroom communities safe for all of our children. If there are any allergy concerns in your child’s classroom, you will receive a more specific letter during the first week of school.

Although manufacturers have become more diligent in indicating allergen status on their products, there is always a danger that foods can be cross-contaminated on production lines.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. San Pietro in the Health Office at (203) 452-4412. For more information on food allergies visit The Food Allergy Research and Education website; it is a great resource for all types of food allergies.

Thank You,

Ileana San Pietro, RN,BSN

From the Principal (August 1, 2018)

August 1, 2018

Dear Middlebrook Families,

I hope you are having a lovely summer. I remind students to keep reading daily, as a part of the Trumbull First Selectman’s and Governor’s Reading Challenge. You can find more information about district summer reading expectations by clicking here.

***Just a reminder: there is an online reading log found on the same link that we encourage students and families to complete prior to returning to school in August. Also, we encourage our students to complete math review and visit math websites provided by TPS which you can access here.

I have attached the 2018-2019 Trumbull Schools Calendar. The first day of school is August 30th. Please mark your calendar for student open house on August 29 from 2-3pm. On this day, students make a brief visit to their classrooms prior to starting school. We find it is a great way to welcome students and families back from the long summer and it helps lower the anxiety of the first day.

Please mark your calendar for Middlebrook Elementary Back-to-School nights. On Wednesday, September 5th from 7-8pm kindergarten, first and second grade parents are invited to this informative evening spent in the classroom. Your child’s teacher will discuss classroom, curriculum and behavioral expectations. On Thursday, September 6th from 7-8pm, grades three, four and five teachers will host a similar evening for parents. These evenings are critical to the success of our students and help us to forge a strong learning partnership with parents. We ask that you get a child sitter, as children should not attend this important adult evening.

This year we are trying to send as much material as possible through email. Please make sure you have signed up for the parent portal on TPS website and provide the Middlebrook School office (203-452-4411) with an accurate email address. Placement letters will go out by email during the week of August 20th and are dependent on enrollment.

Finally, you can check our Middlebrook Elementary website for information about the PTA, policies, school news and sample supply lists for each grade level.

Best wishes,

Principal Frillici Signature
