A Note from our School Nurse, May 2019

May 24, 2019

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s) of 2nd-5th Grade Students:

In accordance with Connecticut Statutes, the Trumbull Board of Education’s policy on Physical Health Assessments requires all pupils to have a physical health assessment when entering grades three (3) and grade six (6).

During the next school year, your child will be enrolled in one of the grades that requires a physical health assessment. The physical must be completed between June 1, 2019 and June 1, 2020. A school health assessment form must be completed and returned to the school your child is attending in the fall. You may obtain a copy from the Trumbull Public School website.

Due to lack of compliance in the past years, the superintendent of the Trumbull schools has instructed the principal of each school to exclude any student not meeting this requirement on June 1, 2020.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please feel free to call the Health Office.

Thank you,

A Note from our School Nurse, August 2018

August 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On behalf of the many students with food allergies (some of which can be life threatening) we would appreciate your assistance in keeping our classroom communities safe for all of our children. If there are any allergy concerns in your child’s classroom, you will receive a more specific letter during the first week of school.

Although manufacturers have become more diligent in indicating allergen status on their products, there is always a danger that foods can be cross-contaminated on production lines.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. San Pietro in the Health Office at (203) 452-4412. For more information on food allergies visit The Food Allergy Research and Education website; it is a great resource for all types of food allergies.

Thank You,

Ileana San Pietro, RN,BSN
